After another season filled with entertaining and shocking moments, the NFL has brought to viewers exciting playoff games, followed by a compelling Super Bowl championship.

The NFL playoffs featured the Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, LA Rams, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. The wildcard and divisional rounds saw intense clashes, with standout performances that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

“These games were extremely entertaining. I especially liked the Rams vs. Lions game as it was really close and Matthew Stafford was playing against his old team,” junior Emerson Manueles said.

The AFC, meanwhile, witnessed the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills facing off in high-stakes encounters. After the wildcard games, the AFC divisional battles saw the Texans challenging the Ravens, who emerged victorious, and the Chiefs engaging in a forced duel against the Bills. These matchups set the stage for the intense conference championship.

The conference championships were neck and neck. The San Francisco 49ers battled back from a 24-7 deficit to defeat the Detroit Lions 34-31. In the AFC, Mahomes and the Chiefs took down MVP Lamar Jackson and the first-seeded Ravens by a score of 17-10.

The two teams had played against each other in the Super Bowl just four years prior in Super Bowl LIV where the Chiefs won 31-20. The 49ers sought revenge while the Chiefs hoped to establish a dynasty, which is when a team wins three Super Bowl championships in five years. The Chiefs vs 49ers was a nail-biter as the teams battled back and forth. This sent the game into overtime and resulted in a Chiefs victory with a score of 25-22. Patrick Mahomes won Super Bowl MVP, which marks the third time he has won this honor.
