On November 6, 2024, Netflix officially confirmed the release of the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things,” set to launch in 2025. The new season will feature the return of its core cast, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery and several other prominent actors who have been integral to the show’s success. Fans of the series are eagerly awaiting the conclusion to the thrilling, supernatural storyline that has captivated audiences worldwide since its debut.
“I’m really excited to see how they’ll wrap things up in the final season of ‘Stranger Things,’” English teacher Ms. Kaczmarczyk said. “I’ve loved watching the first four seasons, and it’s wild to think it’s taken nearly ten years to tell the whole story. Season 4 left us on a cliffhanger, so I’m eager to find out what happens next and how the fate of Hawkins—and all the characters—will unfold.”
When the sci-fi series debuted on Netflix in July 2016, it quickly became a favorite among teenagers and young adults across the nation. With its nostalgic 80s references, captivating characters and eerie storyline, “Stranger Things” captured the attention of millions, becoming an influential part of many people’s lives as they grew up.
“I started watching the show in sixth grade and I am still hooked on it because of the entertaining plot and interesting characters,” freshman Nailah Islam said.
“I was seven years old when the show came out and it has been a family show all my life, and I loved watching the cast grow up,” sophomore Sara Chacko said.
Due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, the start of production for the final season was delayed. However, on January 8, 2024, Netflix announced that filming for the highly anticipated final season had officially begun. After months of hard work, production wrapped up on December 20, 2024, marking the completion of the series’ final chapter.
The creators of the show, Matt and Ross Duffer, have expressed that the upcoming final season will be the most ambitious and emotionally changed one yet, especially as it marks the last time the cast will film together after nearly a decade of working on the show. The Duffer brothers have also revealed that the new season will begin with a one-year time jump from the Season 4 finale, heightening the anticipation and excitement for viewers eager to see how the story unfolds.
“I have been very excited for the new season as they left us with so many cliffhangers, and I cannot wait to see the actors again, especially Millie Bobby Brown,” freshman Giuliana Corrales said.
“Although most of the main cast are old enough to have their own children, I am excited to catch up with the characters in Hawkins, Indiana,” English teacher Mr. Stencel said.
Millions are excited to reconnect with their favorite characters and dive back into the world of the Upside Down, Demogorgons and all the thrilling mysteries of “Stranger Things.” Fans everywhere, including students and teachers at NHP, are eagerly awaiting the season’s release, ready to discover what surprises and emotional moments await them in the series’ grand finale.
