This year, to kick off NHP’s Senior Week, the Class of 2025 participated in Costume Day, dressing up as a variety of different fictional and non-fictional characters.
Costume Day culminated with an after-school competition, where a panel of teachers judged the seniors on their costumes to determine the winners in a variety of categories. The following seniors were recognized for their costumes:
Best Overall: Pirates • Deborah Aderibigbe, Evyn Roliz, Rasandi Fernando, Frances Lin and Kailey Chan
Best Group: “Trolls” • Sofia Poulos, Alexa Geigle, Grace Leonard, Mia Vitellaro, Adriana Caneda and Bridget Allen
Most Creative: “Strawberry Shortcake” • Abigail Chacko, Sonia Sabu, Swati Saji, Tessa Lalson and Sophia Jacob
Most Authentic Group: “Super Mario Bros” • Dylan Sanichara, Steven Sibrian, Christopher Munge, Andrew Ramsaroop, Cameron Conroy, Zury Contreras, Kimberly Amon, Lauren Yip and Joseph Rago
Most Authentic Individual: Julius Caesar • Jeronimo Velasquez-Cano
Most Comical: “Inside Out” • Serena Sabu, Helen Thomas, Tessa Nittu, Arpita Balaggan and Tanisha Patel
Most Original: Drag Queen • James White
“It was so cool to see all the costumes and ideas that people came up with! I also had a great experience creating our pirate costume, and it’s amazing that we won! I love this NHP tradition and was excited to participate in it. I had a lot of fun being in the parrot crew for a day,” senior Deborah Aderibigbe said.
“I dressed up as Fear from ‘Inside Out.’ Costume day was incredibly fun, it was nice to see what everyone was dressed up as and everyone was so creative in what they chose,” senior Tanisha Patel said.
