It’s been five years since I wrote my first Chariot article, and I can’t believe how quick it went! From writer to staff writer to editor to the woman in charge, Chariot has been such an important part of high school. I have loved the opportunity to write articles to honor our school, and to read and edit the amazing work of others. I want to take this moment to thank the team who made our paper as amazing as it is, and to say my final goodbye to this paper!
Charlene, Cadence, Zhara, Shania, Surie: Thank you all for being such amazing cartoonists. I never have to worry about articles having wonderful art thanks to your hard work. It’s you who make our paper beautiful and make the stories that we are trying to tell engaging on our site. I could not be more thankful that you dedicated your time and skills to making our paper as lovely as it is. I know all of you will do great things and please keep drawing!
Keith: Thank you for dedicating your time and effort to taking pictures for us! I know you juggle so many things and I’m so glad that you have taken the time to make Chariot one of your priorities!
Evelyn: Thank you for always being willing to attend events and take pictures everywhere, no matter where or when it is. I’m truly grateful for your willingness to do whatever it takes to get the right picture. I’m going to miss checking in with you in AP Psychology, but I know you are going to continue to take amazing pictures for both Chariot and beyond!
Lindsay: The actual best art manager I could ever ask for. From midnight texts to chats in Gov, I could always trust you to keep me up to date and make sure all the art is in. Your ability to stay organized and keep everything you do together impresses me so much and I can’t thank you more. Your art is beautiful and truly captures the essence of every article it is. You are going to be the best future math teacher!
Hedia, Rishita, Ben: Thank you for being such great Staff Writers. I think that being a Staff Writer was the hardest job I had on this paper, and that’s because it’s your responsibility to write any articles that we ask. Your ability to generate an article in just a few days is so valued and all of your work is top notch. Thank you for your unfailing dedication to our paper and I know all three of you are going to do great things!
Helai: I’m so glad to have you on staff this year. You are such a great editor and I really appreciate that you are able to make last minute changes, even if they occur on late-night. I love talking with you and your presence at late-night makes it so much better!
Nayana: The News section would not have been the same without you! Not only are you a great editor, but all of your articles are so well written and insightful. Your humor makes my days and our Chariot table so much better! I hope you keep writing in college because you have such a talent for it!
Fatima: Your dedication is truly impressive! All of your written work is so well-researched, verbose, and delightful to read. You have many things in your life but you always give The Chariot 110% of your effort. I love reading what you wrote and I love all of our conversations at layout (and now work!). I can’t wait to see what else you do.
Rebecca: There is no one who has spent more time around The Chariot table than you. You were the best person to write that article about our table because of your unfailing dedication. I always can trust that your work will be done on time and at the highest level and I’m so grateful for your presence. Entertainment will miss your excellent work!
Jisha: The other half of the entertainment dream team! Thank you for always being there and always willing to help out everyone, even if the work isn’t strictly yours. I appreciate how adaptable you are and how willing you are to listen to other’s ideas. Your smile is contagious, your work is truly excellent, and I’m so happy to have had you here.
Jacob: From being staff writers together to being a news editor, thank you for all your time and effort. I never have to worry about anything getting done when I know your name is attached. Thank you for your presence and your dependability. I know you are going to do some great things.
Shohom: You are so smart, but you already knew that! When I see that your name is attached to an article, I know I’m about to learn something new or understand from a different perspective. Your contributions in layout and late night are invaluable and I truly can’t wait to see what you do in Georgia and beyond.
Nuha: All your articles have some kind of creative spin, and that’s what makes you so good at features! You always have such insightful ideas at brainstorm and I love watching you bring them to life. Your work is amazing and so valued, and I will see you at Mathnasium! Never lose that creativity and curiosity!
Sharon: Thank you for being my rock in layout. I know I’ve rested my head on your shoulder when there was too much going on and confided in you so many things. I know that the senioritis has hit hard but I have seen you so locked in during late-night when you are writing or fixing a last minute article. Thank you for your photos, your ability to churn out work under pressure, and most importantly your loyalty. The rest, I’ve saved for the yearbook.
Darsh: Thank you for being my co-Editor-in-Chief. Whether it’s hunting down an administrator, getting artists or editors in line, or taking a last minute photo, I know I can count on you to get it done. You do such a great job balancing everything that you are committed to and I truly can’t wait to watch you take the world by storm.
Ms. K: Welcome to Chariot! I’m so happy that you joined this year and I hope I helped show you the ropes. You were so very helpful this year and it was great having you in the room. I know that the newspaper is left in such good hands and I’m so excited to watch from the sidelines!
Ms. Mannle: My seventh grade English teacher, I feel so honored to have had you. Your invite to join the paper truly changed the course of my high school career and I don’t know who I would be without it. I love all of our conversations, whether it’s with the group at layout or later when everyone else has left. Knowing that I have you in my corner has been such a blessing and I will forever be grateful to you. Please expect texts from me!
And that’s it from me! Thank you to all the readers and writers who took the time to read and contribute to our paper. Without you, there would be no paper. I can’t wait to see what comes next, and remember, there are no Oxford commas.
